From My Journal

...On another note, my Christianity is being challenged. As I listen to Piper sermons and examine my own life I realize what strange American Christianity culture I have been discipled under. Thank God, that Jesus Christ is full of Grace and Truth. Being apart of church plants, and house churches I often hear alot about strategy and being culturally relevant. I end up criticizing the way other Evangelical Christians do church. Whoa Heidi...

I am being reminded through God's Word that God's Son went before us even from the beginning (John 1). I forget that it is Jesus who heals, it is Jesus who sets captives free and it is Jesus who starts growth in new or existing churches. Not strategy or psychological manipulation. Hear me out, I do feel it important to seek ways to reach people, but sometimes the strategy is thought of as better than this or that and takes our eyes off of the various different kind of folks around us.

Thank you, God for sending your Son and reaching to people whom you knew before hand. Forgive me for seeing my Salvation, at age twelve, just as an experience. You declared me righteous and not guilty in my friend's bedroom. What kind of strategy is that? God's Heidi...

i found your blog through kim w's links and i've recently started attending the MAP group at sandals... but what really caught my attention is that i used to attend bethlehem baptist (which you've mentioned) when i went to bethel college in st. paul. i'm a huge piper fan and have been so challenged by his awe & delight of God.
