Not A Good Idea
I tell myself not to do it, but I did. Saturday afternoon, the day before mother's day, I took my boys to the mall.
"What's so wrong with that?"
Hmmm...in the grocery store there are large crowds, tired kids, pushing, plowing through, hungry kids, people who haven't seen each other in long time-decide to stand in the middle of the isle while my B is screaming, T.J. is nursing on the zipper of my sweater and everyone decides to stop at the sample table as I try to get to the bread section, poopy kids (Ah man, T.J. has a clothe diaper on!)...
"Stingy people!" I think. "Oh, they have fresh licorice, actually..."
I really have to not look at other's responses when I ask my son to go back into the stroller and he stands screaming in the flow of traffic. It was really fun when he asked to get out of the stroller in the first place and the whole thing flipped back because I had groceries on top. Amazingly the eggs did not break...
I pay for the groceries and head for the family bathroom (I love Finland for that!) and nurse T.J. and recap with B what happened in the store.
My morning was not that terrible, fun moments included eating salty pastries with B and talking Finnish to an old couple sitting next to us. Or just listening to my son talk, boy is that hilarious, any verb or adverb he doesn't know is filled in by a "pitter, bitter, putter, blah."
I love being a mom!
