I know I've been in Finland long enough...

1. ...if I push a pram everyday uphill and down with groceries and child(ren) and still want to run away to the gym.

2. ...when going to store everyday is normal.

3. ...when weighing my own produce and candy and placing a price sticker on it myself is normal.

4. ...when some Finnish words sound better than in English.

5. ...when other English speakers and myself can't find a word in English and we're describing it the best we can and fail. (Later remembering it in the middle of the night because it bothers me so much!)

6. ...when I am on a train going to Helsinki in the morning and EVERYBODY is reading the paper and not a sound is made. (Ok, slightly exagerating here, maybe someone is whispering on their cell phone, "Shhh, this is the train!")

7. ...when I notice Finnish people staring at something wrong in public and it bothers me so much and that no one does something and then I run home to tell Mikko and he asks, "Did you do anything?" Doh!...

8. ...when I don't remember what it is like to have warm weather, or even sunshine for that matter!

9. ...when people around me speak as if the Helsinki paper were the daily Word of God. "Did you know the Helsinki Sanomat said...?"

10. ...when people think my runny nose is a sign of the flew. My sinuses are plugged, or I merely sneeze, "Do you have the flew?" NOOOOOOOO people!

11. ...when I am wathching a Finnish film and I get a joke.

12. ...when food I rarely eat back home sounds wonderful: Cheetos, oreos, peanutbutter cereal, etc.

13. ...tuna on pizza is like our barbeque chicken pizza back home.

14. ...when I know most folks in Helsinki speak English.

15. ...when I realize all my neighbors and I get prenatal and post care with the same nurse.
.
16. ...when waiting in the health center doesn't take 3 hours for emergency. I call, they give me a time, I go, I'm in, I'm out. (Week days during working hours ofcourse).

17. ...when even Finns complain of the weather and no sun and yet this is the greatest country!

18. ...when Macaroni-in-a-box is a common meal at the Sivonen home.

19. ... when evening meal is normal (after dinner)

20. ...Am I missing something?

No. 13 is not right. Our pizza from Koti was just insanely strange with the tuna. Since it's not a traditional Finnish practice I don't feel obliged to adopt it. So there.
