Pinadas and High Fevers
Last Saturday the boys and I went to a 2 year old's birthday party. He is El Salvadorean/Finnish so I was pretty excited to use my horrible Spanish as I ate my pastellas and the boys kept asking for cookies and candy. Mikko came later and was able to share the Good News about Jesus to others. He clarified what I was trying to say in Finnish to others. It can be challenging for a Finn to say my son's name, but cool for me cause the Gospel gets it's foot in the door! It was cute watching B walk around the appartment in an El Salvadorean tourist-like straw hat. Our two boys are quite entertaining as P joined in smiling...
If you can take some time, pray for my neighbors. Several families are getting super high fevers. I have been under the impression that Finns take their children's temperature everyday because they always seem to know how warm their children are. I have been told that during winter time Finns easily get this way and it really affects them. The fever passes from family member to family member to where they vomit or just feel as though under the influence. Our kids are well and rarely seem to ever get fevers. And by the way, sorry for mispelling "Pinadas", I can't seem to figure out how to put the "n" with the squigally line. Until next time!
