Easter Fun

"Hewo Hosey!", she says...
A little nippy, hence the bundled toddler.
Excited to ride again!
Can go for awhile but stopping is still a must.
See, I actually exist!

Easter egg hunt, once again T.J. tops the most eggs!
Dyed eggs!
Easter week's reading...
This week's verse...
This month's reading...

This was an exceptional week of non-planning-full-of-activity kind of gig. Normally I plan ahead for the lessons, but for some reason the planning sheet drew a blank. I just went with the flow and had a blast! There was some planning mind you but I just let it all float in my head. All last week our oldest was the last to get what we got (minus the puking). By Thursday we hesitated to even go to the store (which we needed to before the holiday). What made us go?

"Mom, I think I will feel better if we have pizza.", he says.

Made total sense to us so we went!

Mikko and I split the children and we searched the mall for what we needed. B offers to push the umbrella stroller and we pass a bunch of teenagers sitting on a bench.
"Ahhh, look at that, he is sooo cute."

They remind me, he sure is.

Made way to the discount book store and asked for Easter or Christian material for children. Lady casually informs there wasn't any (you see often I HAVE found something). So I move on to other Easter prep goods...

The rest of the weekend was fun and quite enjoyable. Good Friday family walk was quite chilly but the children didn't seem to mind.
A lot of the time I was reminded of material I already had for this special Christ Resurrection event. We made a mountain out of play dough which I got the idea from Noel Piper. Dyed eggs (with icing colors), drew a picture of an empty tomb, Easter Lenten devotions, etc. I completed Sunday school, made several liters of Apricot jam, even with chili, and yes napped and went for a run somewhere in there.

Mikko made fresh rolls for the children while I completed some other tasks. What a guy!

The biggest joy was watching the children interact, discuss and observe what we shared concerning the Cross and why Jesus came to die.
Often we ask our children what they liked about their day and what they didn't like. Our three year-old girl says with confidence (Insert really cute preschooler accent),

"I didn't like that mommy rose her voice when we spilled the beads all over the floor." humbled by that statement I tell her she is right and that I could have spoken more kindly. "Mommy, did wrong..." Before I could even complete my sentence she says,

"Even Mommy needs Jesus!"

That's right, even Mommy needs forgiveness of sins! Everyday I need to remind myself of the glorious truth that Christ died for my sins completely. Because I believe and trust in Him I have eternal life. He forgives! I don't have to wonder if I am forgiven or doubt His great work on the cross and His glorious resurrection. He truly forgives. Amen.

I surely treasured this time. Other seasoned and experienced moms tell me that the days are long but the years are short, so enjoy every moment!
